1. Construction License.

When you purchase your North Woods Joinery master plan, you also receive our license to copy the master plan for your own use, and the right to build the timber frame home as many times as you like. When you order your frame and stress-skin panel package from North Woods Joinery, we’ll even credit the price of your home plans to our frame package.

2. Copying your Master Plan.

Your North Woods Joinery master plan is a 1/4” scale, high quality CAD plot on white paper that is suitable for photocopying.

3. What your plans include:

A. The cover page - a rendering of your home (not to scale)

B. Elevations - four exterior elevations

C. Foundation, deck, & construction details - drawings that indicate footing placements, wall dimensions, and typical deck cross sections. When appropriate, gable, eaves, and wall details will be included. These will allow your concrete subcontractor and carpenter to pour a foundation and build a first floor deck that matches your frame exactly.(1)

D. First & second floor details - scale drawings that show room placements and dimen- sions.

E. Timberframe design & sections - dimensioned drawings showing details like straight & curved kneebraces, timber intersections and the like. Typical joinery details are included.

F. Panel layout - a full layout drawing that shows where each type of panel goes, where the panels are pieced, and where to use the pieces.

G. Vertical spacing -if a particular home has reduced head room on upper floors, this will be indicated in cross sections of the affected rooms.

Because of this, we cannot guarantee compliance with local code variations. Your locality may require an engineer’s or architect’s seal.
